british airways air miles lifespan

the british airways Executive Club Terms and Conditions states that 'If a Member has not earned or redeemed Mileage for 36 consecutive months, all Mileage that has accrued to that date will expire.'

To keep your current mileage balance you need to continue to earn or redeem BA Miles, as each mileage transaction extends the life of your
BA Miles for a further 36 months. Membership accounts will be activated by any form of mileage activity including: taking a flight on any
British Airways or oneworld partner airline (excluding American Airlines direct services between Europe and the Americas); by redeeming miles on British Airways (including Part Cash Part Miles or Miles for Upgrade redemptions) or a oneworld partner airline; by earning BA Miles with any of our Executive Club partners eg credit card, financial services, car rental or hotel partners.
